The Aegean sea makes up Turkey’s western border and separates Turkey from Greece. Hundreds of miles of coastline are home to olive groves, fishing villages, Greek and Roman ruins, and whitewashed summer homes. Its a prime vacation destination, particularly if you are looking to spend some time at the beach during your visit to Turkey.
Aegean Coast Orientation
The northern Aegean coast encompasses the stretch of coast north from Izmir up to Çanakkale; the southern Aegean coast includes everything south of Izmir down to Marmaris. There are two primary airports that service the coast: Izmir airport (best for reaching the northern Aegean towns and the Çeşme peninsula) and the Bodrum Milas airport (for the southern Aegean).
